Best Lemon Drop Martini Cocktail
Today I’m sharing my spin on my wife’s favorite cocktail, the Lemon Drop Martini — with a sugar rim.
Weekends are synonymous with relaxing and enjoying some time away from the everyday hustle. And cocktails can definitely set the mood and get the party started for just about any occasion.
The combination of sweet and sour will send your taste buds into your happy place; especially when you add alcohol to the mix. Since everyone has a cocktail preference that spans bitter to sweet and varies on the amount of alcohol used, I believe this Lemon Drop Martini recipe is an awesome balance of the two worlds.
This is a pretty simple recipe. You’ll just need to add ice and all of the ingredients before doing the shake dance. Norman Day Hobday is credited for this great-tasting cocktail that was created during the ’70s in San Francisco. The genius behind this cocktail came from the lemon drop candy a lot of us grew up loving.
My better half loves this recipe and specifically request it to be made with a sugar rim. Apparently, it’s all about technique. As you are sipping the cocktail, you get a little of the sugar that cuts the strong bite from the lemon. Who knew. 🙂
When you want to give your guest or a date a great tasting cocktail they will truly enjoy, give this Lemon Drop Martini Cocktail a spot on your coaster. Enjoy!
