Blackberry Mojito Cocktail
This Blackberry Mojito Cocktail uses vodka instead of rum plus fresh blackberries and blackberry sparkling water that kicks the traditional version up a notch or two!
I know a lot of people have a cocktail of choice, but some cocktails just seem better during certain times of the year. Take the mojito as an example. They are perfect during the summer months because of there refreshing qualities. Hanging out poolside or at the beach with a mojito in one hand just screams summertime!
Traditionally, a mojito is a cocktail made with white rum, sugar, lime juice, soda water, and mint. That’s fairly straightforward and a very simple cocktail to make. To put my spin on this popular drink, I decided to go with vodka instead of rum.
I opted to add a bit of fresh fruit — blackberries — and kicked up that flavor times two with some blackberry sparkling water and ginger ale (in lieu of the soda water that is typically used).
How to Make a Blackberry Mojito:
To start, add your blackberries (4), mint leaves (6), a slice of lime, sugar, and lemon juice to your serving glass. Gently muddle your ingredients together.
A quick tip: Be sure not to over muddle your ingredients when preparing your drink; especially the mint. Very gentle pressure will quickly release more minty-flavors and will result in less bitterness.
Add ice over the ingredients, then pour in the vodka, remaining mint leaves, and blackberries.
Top drink off your cocktail with Blackberry Sparkling Water and the other half with Ginger Ale. Garnish glass with a lime slice and serve.
My Blackberry Mojito combines juicy blackberries and refreshing mint for the perfect cocktail for the summer and really any time of the year. You can pull this recipe together in no time and if you love the addition of the fresh fruit and lime, this cocktail will be right up your alley!
