Frozen Wine Slushies
Wine slushies boasting three flavors sounds like a very refreshing idea to me! One of the great things about wine slushies is how versatile they are, and with this recipe, I give you three flavor combinations: one layer with blueberries, one with pineapple, and one with strawberry. Say hello to my Frozen Wine Slushies!
Here in Texas, we are approaching the time when it gets really hot! And there is nothing better than an icy drink to cool things down.
With wine slushies, I enjoy mixing the flavors to see what variation I come up with next—and they are different every time. All you need is frozen fruit, your choice of wine, and a little coconut cream and triple sec for a change in consistency and flavor for that middle layer!

- While any wine will work, I prefer Reisling white wine. White wines tend to go well with any fruit, whereas red wines pair better with berries. Other “sweeter” white wine options include Moscato, the sweetest white wine, Chenin Blanc, or Gewürztraminer. Riesling sits right in the middle and is perfect for those who don’t want anything too sweet.
- For the fruit, you’ll need frozen blueberries, strawberries, and pineapple chunks. Other fruits that work well are peaches, raspberries, blackberries, watermelon, and mangoes. This recipe is customizable, so you can use your favorite fruits to make it your own.
- Because that middle layer is extra special, you’ll also need coconut cream and triple sec.
- And don’t the ice!
How to make frozen wine slushies
This recipe should make two wine slushies. They can be served as-is or garnished with a fresh pineapple wedge, strawberries, or blueberries.
Prepare the blueberry layer. Add the frozen blueberries, Riesling wine, and ice to the blender (paid link). Blend until smooth. Add the blended blueberry slushy to a glass and set it aside. Rinse the blender (paid link). (If you are serving them right away, you can place this layer in the fridge while preparing the other layers. If you need more time, store the slushy in a large Ziploc bag and place it in the freezer.)
Prepare the pineapple layer. Add the frozen pineapple chunks, triple sec, coconut cream, and ice to the blender (paid link). Blend until smooth. Using a spoon, layer the blended pineapple slushy on top of the blueberry slushy. Rinse the blender (paid link).
Prepare the strawberry layer. Add the frozen strawberries, Riesling wine, and ice to the blender (paid link). Blend until smooth. Using a spoon, layer the blended strawberry slushy on top of the pineapple slushy. Serve immediately.
Handy tip: Making the perfect layers
If you are serving your wine slushies immediately, place your glasses in the freezer between layers. For the second and third layers, use a spoon to gently scoop and add the wine slushy to the glass. This keeps the layers from melting and blending until you have completed all layers.
