Description

A Ground Chicken Three-Cheese Stromboli filled with various cheese, herbs, spices, ground chicken, and a Parmesan cheese sauce that brings it all together.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb Fresh Pizza Dough
  • 1 lb Ground Chicken
  • 1 tbsp Oregano
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Rosemary Flakes
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Thyme
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Himalayan Salt
  • 2 cup Shredded Gouda Cheese
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

For the Parmesan cheese sauce:

  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tbsp All Purpose Flour
  • 2 tsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 cup Whipping Cream
  • 1 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Parsley Flakes
  • 1 tsp Crushed Red Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Oregano

Instructions

  1. Add your ground chicken into a large bowl with seasonings. Mix well with hands. Cook ground chicken for 5 to 8 minutes then remove from heat.
  2. Pre-heat cooking pan at medium heat. Add butter and minced garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add flour and cook until it thickens. Add whipping cream and sauce seasonings. Stir in Parmesan cheese. Lower the heat to a simmer and cook for 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  3. Spread pastry flour over kitchen counter top. Place fresh dough onto flour and shape dough into a rectangle. Flatten with roller.
  4. Add sauce to the pizza dough spreading evenly. Top off with 1 cup grated Gouda cheese, ground chicken, and remaining Mozzarella and Gouda cheese.
  5. Roll the dough up like a burrito, folding over the ends first, then rolling into a cylinder-like shape. Pinch the edges to seal. Lay the Stromboli seam side down.
  6. Add non-stick spray to the bottom of the baking pan and place the Stromboli on top.
  7. Add egg and 1 tsp of water into a small bowl and whisk (paid link). Brush Stromboli with the egg mixture and cut small slits in the top. Pre-heat the oven to 425 degrees and cook the Stromboli for 20 minutes.
