Ingredients
- 1 pack Grand Crescent rolls (8 count; 6 used for recipe)
- 6 organic uncured beef hot dogs
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 3 tsp. pure honey
- 1/4 tsp. prepared horseradish
- 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp. Creole seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a large baking sheet (paid link) with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- Open the pack of crescent rolls and carefully separate the dough along the perforations into individual triangles on a clean cutting board.
- Place one beef hot dog at the wide end of a crescent dough triangle. Gently roll the dough around the hot dog toward the pointed tip until fully wrapped. Repeat with the remaining five hot dogs.
- Arrange the wrapped crescent dogs on the prepared baking sheet (paid link), spaced about 2 inches apart, with the pointed tips tucked underneath. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the crescent dough puffs and turns deep golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
- While the crescent dogs bake, combine the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, pure honey, prepared horseradish, fresh lemon juice, and Creole seasoning in a small mixing bowl. Whisk (paid link) vigorously until smooth and completely blended.
- Plate the warm, golden crescent dogs alongside the bowl of spicy honey mustard dip and serve immediately.
Notes
Tuck the Points Down: When rolling, always place the wrapped dogs on the baking sheet (paid link) with the narrow triangle point facing down against the pan. This prevents the dough from unrolling as it expands in the oven.
Pat Hot Dogs Dry: Blot the outside of the hot dogs with a paper towel before wrapping them. Removing surface moisture helps the raw dough grip the meat so it doesn’t slip during the bake.
Add a Cheesy Center: Cut a shallow slit lengthwise down each hot dog and stuff it with a thin strip of cheddar, pepper jack, or string cheese before rolling it in the dough.
Bagel Seasoning Crunch: Brush the tops of the unbaked crescent dough with melted butter or egg wash, then sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning, flaky sea salt, or sesame seeds before baking.
Pigs-in-a-Blanket Appetizer Size: Slice each hot dog into three equal pieces and cut each dough triangle into three smaller strips to make bite-sized appetizers for parties. Reduce the bake time to 11–13 minutes.
