Description

This Turkey Swedish Meatball recipe is a great way to turn ground turkey into a flavorful dinner idea — all covered in savory, rich gravy.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/2 lb ground turkey
  • 1/3 cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan
  • 1/2 cup white onion, chopped and divided
  • 1 large organic egg
  • 2 tbsp dried basil, divided
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp black pepper, divided
  • 1/2 tsp ground thyme
  • 3/4 tsp sea salt, divided
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1/4 cup whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Add ground turkey, Italian breadcrumbs, grated parmesan, ¼ cup white onion, organic egg, 1 tbsp dried basil, smoked paprika, 1 tsp black pepper, ground thyme, and ¼ tsp sea salt into a large bowl. Mix thoroughly.
  2. Form the meatballs into palm-sized balls and set them to the side.
  3. Add olive oil to a large cast iron skillet (paid link). Heat to medium-high heat and sear meatballs for 2 minutes on each side. Remove from heat and set to the side.
  4. In the same cast iron skillet (paid link), add the minced garlic and ¼ cup white onion. Cook on medium heat for 4 minutes. Pour in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, 1 tbsp dried basil, ¼ tsp sea salt, ½ tsp black pepper, and garlic powder. Stir together.
  5. Add meatballs back to cast iron skillet (paid link). Cover skillet and cook on medium-high heat for 10 to 12 minutes until meatballs are golden brown and cooked throughout.
  6. Add cornstarch and water to a small bowl and stir until combined. Carefully add the mixture into cast iron skillet (paid link).
  7. Add whipping cream and grated parmesan cheese into the skillet stir. Cover on simmer for an additional 3 to 5 additional minutes.
