Truffle Chicken Meatball Pasta

“Every day I’m truffling…” would be the theme song if this dish had one! This Truffle Chicken Meatball Pasta recipe is full of nutty truffle flavors. Made with a rich truffle cream sauce, juicy chicken meatballs, and tender bowtie pasta — with black truffle “thrills” added for an elegant spin on the alfredo sauce — it is perfect for dinner or a family-style meal anytime.

If you love truffles, then you will love this pasta dish. Not only will you find truffle flavors in the meatballs, but I’ve also added truffle to the sauce, so each bite is full of nuttiness —- and truffle “thrills” are the source of this goodness.

Truffle thrills combine earthy summer truffles and blend them with various types of mushrooms, like Porcini. I used Black Truffles and Mushrooms for this recipe, but they also come in multiple flavors, like White Truffles and Porcini Sauce. The texture is smooth and creamy and folds nicely into the alfredo-like sauce. Add a little butter, heavy cream, fresh basil, garlic, and parmesan cheese to the mix, and you have a “thrill” — for real!

And you won’t find any dry meatballs over here! When prepared correctly and combining an egg, grated parmesan cheese, and breadcrumbs, your ground chicken meatballs will never dry out.

What results is a pasta dish that is earthy and rich. The combination of the flavors and being able to appreciate each ingredient in this recipe make this one of my favorites any night of the week.

Ingredients you will need:

truffle chicken meatball pasta ingredients
  • For the perfect sauce, you will need butter, flour, garlic, grated parmesan cheese, fresh basil, and heavy whipping cream.
  • The meatballs use ground chicken, egg, garlic, fresh basil, grated parmesan cheese, and breadcrumbs.
  • The seasonings needed for this recipe are salt, black pepper, rubbed sage, ground cumin, onion powder, ground thyme, and garlic powder.
  • The “special guests” are the truffle oil and truffle thrills. The truffle thrills come in a 6.4 oz. can.
  • Of course, you can’t have a pasta dish without pasta, and the farfalle pasta, nickname “bowtie” pasta, is perfect for this dish.

How to make this truffle pasta dish:

  1. It starts with the meatballs that will be seasoned, formed into round balls, and baked.
  2. Combine your ground chicken, egg, breadcrumbs, grated parmesan cheese, minced garlic, fresh basil, Black Truffle and Mushroom Thrills, ground cumin, ground thyme, salt, black pepper, and onion powder into a large bowl and mix well with hands. Be mindful that the chicken meatballs can get a little sticky, so wet hands or gloves can help.
  3. Form into golf-ball-sized meatballs and place on a non-stick baking sheet (paid link). Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
  4. For the sauce, add butter to a cooking pan at medium-low heat. Once melted, add your minced garlic and flour, stirring until it combines, then pour in the heavy whipping cream. Cook until the heavy cream bubbles.
  5. Add the grated parmesan cheese, the remaining Black Truffle and Mushroom Thrills, truffle oil, rubbed sage, black pepper, garlic powder, and salt. Stir to combine and remove from heat.
  6. Cook the farfalle pasta as instructed, then drain and toss cooked pasta with 1 tbsp of truffle oil. Add cooked pasta to cream sauce and fold to cover pasta evenly.
  7. Top pasta with baked chicken meatballs and serve.

This is a straightforward recipe, but the flavors are so robust that you will feel like you made a very complex meal. If you love pasta dishes, this Truffle Cream Chicken Meatball Pasta dish will satisfy your soul. And remember, when you’re eating and enjoying this dish, have your theme music playing in your head “Every day I’m truffling…” lol. Enjoy!
