I think we all look forward to the summertime. It’s the time of the year where everyone gathers together for poolside parties and family cookouts. And nothing is more fitting than preparing a mouth-watering spread of your favorites from refreshing cocktails, grab and go appetizers, and of course, deliciously grilled eats.

There is just something about the smoke and flames from a barbeque pit that brings out the best flavors in any item you choose to grill. But you know I always want to take my dishes to new heights! No matter if you opt for wings, steaks, veggies, and even fish — Better Than Bouillon bases are at the top of my list when I want to transform my food into tasty bites that have all of my guests asking, “What did you use to season the food?”.

Better Than Bouillon bases are great at helping you manage your preparation process and they are packed with flavor which elevates any ingredient to the next level. There are several options when selecting which flavor you want to use and each can be incorporated as a rub, marinade, sauce, or even to boost the flavor while the meats are right on the grill.

The Roasted Garlic is perfect for meats or veggies, the Roasted Beef, Fish, and Roasted Chicken are ideal for enhancing those base flavors in a number of ways, and the same goes for the Mushroom, and Seasoned Vegetable. I chose the Roasted Chicken base as a marinade for this recipe and it was fantastic.

It was super easy to use too as I only needed to cut my chicken breast into the desired chunks and add a few tablespoons of the Roasted Chicken base. Because it is concentrated, it eliminated the extended time need to marinate my meat while still bringing home the flavor.

If you enjoy making your own sauces the bases can serve that purpose as well. The magic is that the paste has so much flavor you only need a little to get a lot from your recipe. They can also be used to make your own chicken, beef or fish broth. The paste dissolves fast and you don’t have to worry about the gritty taste you may get from other cubed bouillon products.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Better Than Bouillon Roasted Chicken Base
  • 2 lb. Boneless Chicken Breasts
  • 8 oz. Cubed Pineapples
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper
  • 1 Orange Bell Pepper
  • 1 Whole Zucchini
  • 2 tsp Oregano
  • 2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 2 tsp Paprika

For the Teriyaki Pineapple Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup Low Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 2 tsp Minced Garlic
  • 2 tsp Sesame Oil
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Pineapple Juice
  • 2 tsp Cornstarch
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Himalayan Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar

Instructions

  1. Begin by starting your fire on the grill and allow the temperature to reach 350 degrees.
  2. Cut your chicken breast into cubes and place into large bowl. Season chicken with oregano, black pepper and paprika then rub ingredients into the chicken.
  3. Add Better Than Bouillon Roasted Chicken Base to the chicken. Mix together well then set to the side.
  4. Remove the stem and seeds from each of the bell peppers and cut into larges pieces. Chop the zucchini into slices.
  5. Place each ingredient individually onto the skewers in desired order.
  6. Place each chicken and veggie skewer onto the grill. Grill for 4 minutes each side. Remove from heat.
  7. For the sauce, add all ingredients into a small cooking pan on medium/high heat until it begins to bubble then lower heat to simmer and cook for 8 minutes and remove from heat allow to cool.
  8. Server immediately.
