The Coquito Cocktail is a popular holiday drink but is good enough to keep in rotation throughout the year. If you love eggnog, this cocktail is very similar to that buttery, rich flavor you’ve come to expect.

The Cool Coquito Cocktail

Coquito means “Little Coconut” in Spanish and is a traditional Christmas cocktail which is basically a Puerto Rican Eggnog. If rum cocktails with a hint of sweetness rank high on your list, this recipe will be a perfect one to add to the menu. 

We can all give thanks to the Puerto Rican culture for this contribution to the world of cocktails because this is truly an awesome drink. This cocktail is really simple to create and well worth the trip to you locate liquor store to gather all of the necessary ingredients.

It not only tastes great but you can have fun making it! Here are a few additional ingredients you can add to your coquito:

  • Whipped Cream

Description

The Coquito Cocktail is a popular holiday drink, but equally great anytime. Thanks to Puerto Rico for this contribution to the world of cocktails!


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/2 cup Cream of Coconut
  • 1 cup Coconut Milk Reduced Fat
  • 1 cup Evaporated Milk 2% Low Fat
  • 1 1/2 cup Ice Cubes
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 tsp. Ground Nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
  • 8 oz. Malibu Black Rum


Instructions

  1. In a large blender (paid link), add cream of coconut, coconut milk, evaporated milk, vanilla extract, ground nutmeg, ground cinnamon, rum and ice.
  2. Blend ingredients for 5 minutes.
  3. Top with whipped cream and dash of nutmeg in serving glass and serve.
